Fran Taylor speaks about Cambridge Main Street

Fran Taylor from Cambridge Main Street spoke to the Lions about their efforts to make Cambridge an attractive place for people to come. Fellow Lions Tom Davey and Bryant Ficken are members of her Board of Directors. The Main Street four-point approach consists of organization, promotion, design and economic restructuring. In the past year Main Street spent $664,325 toward improvements for downtown Cambridge including improvements to Theos, the Performing Arts facade, relocation of Dominos and a new coffee shop business. Sixteen Lions in attendance at Mondays meeting have helped this year with a downtown project. Many plans are in the future for downtown Cambridge including historic building restoration specialists, Building Docotors, coming to diagnose buildings over 55 years of age and a statewide Main Street meeting in November. Cambridge also qualified for a half million dollar grant that will bring new lamp posts, bike racks, benches and speakers for music in the future.
